Applying Mascara

When coming to mascara, I realize that what seems easy to apply by some women, can be a difficult process for others who always ask “how do I apply mascara”. All women with short lashes wish they were born with long lushes lashes, and when they come across someone who have them naturally, envy rises up inside because it just doesn’t seem right that they have long lashes and you don’t. Ladies, take heart. There’s no need to be jealous of those long lash beauties when you too can also have long, beautiful lashes. Using the right mascara will help you bring out the true beauty of your eyes by creating thick, full and long lashes. If you tried applying mascara before and ended up with a black eye, or your lashes seem to get stuck together when your mascara dries, chances are your problem is in the brand you chose.

Mascara defines, highlight and dramatizes the eyes. It can help you get the thick lashes you’ve always wanted. When choosing your mascara, look for one that lengthens and thickens, curls, separates and condition your lashes without smearing, clumping or smudging throughout the day.

The mascara you choose can make people wonder if your lashes are fake while they stare you down with wonder, or if you just got it like that . . . an unfair advantage with heavenly wings that seem to gently spring upwards each time you blink.

To achieve the look of having thick, long lashes, gently sweep a light coating of a non-clumping, lengthening mascara on your lashes. Then apply a second coat to add volume. This second coating will also add the length to your lashes that I’m sure will make you very happy.

Now, here are some specific tried and tested techniques that will work towards achieving the look you’ve always wanted.
As you prepare to apply your mascara, focusing on one eye at a time certainly prevent caking and clumping of your lashes. Avoid mascara from drying in between coats by applying quickly and swiftly.
Here’s what you need to get started:

Start with clean lashes and choose your formula – Joy Lorraine Super Lash Mascara or Joy Lorraine Waterproof Mascara. Whatever formula you choose, sweep a light coat of mascara over your lashes, concentrating on the hard-to-reach lashes that are closer to the corner of your eye. Remember to keep a very light hand here. If you over-do this step, you’ll most likely end up with clumping.

Thoroughly comb your lashes to get out any clumps. When the mascara starts to build up on the comb, make sure to tissue it off to prevent adding excessive mascara back onto your lashes. Now that you’ve mastered the art of applying your mascara, do it again on the other eye. Seeing the result of what you did should get you excited when you start on the other eye. You may want to comb through your lashes a final time after the mascara has dried to ensure the removal of any clumping.
