Dysphagia, the medical term for swallowing difficulties, is found in patients young and old. It can be caused by a number of different reasons and various treatments and coping techniques are available depending on the nature of the cause. There are two types of dysphagia; Oropharyngeal where the difficulty arises with the mouth or throat and Oropharyngeal which tends to be neurological where the nerves and muscles which control swallowing have become damaged.
