Hypnosis For Your Love Life?

Because I’m a hypnotherapist, and because one of the specialties closest to my heart is helping people with attraction, love, and romance, this question comes up often in my practice:

“Do you teach your clients how to hypnotize people to fall in love with them instantly?”

The short answer is no.

The long answer is, no, I don’t, not ever, not even if you say pretty please. Because in my heart it would be unethical, not to mention impossible, to coerce someone to fall in love with you—if you’re taking about genuine, healthy long-lasting love. And that’s the only kind I work with. Because it’s the only kind healthy people desire in the long run.

Besides, you don’t really believe you need coercion to get love—when there is someone out there who already wants what you are?

Oh, you didn’t know there’s someone out there for you?

Got it. That’s part of the work I do, helping people know and believe that, yes, someone is out there for you. And there is probably more than just one who is a candidate.

So what can hypnosis do for YOUR love life? Lots. And there’s probably more than a few things on this incomplete list that will speak to you directly.

Hypnosis can:

1. Prepare you to find, meet, and more-easily recognize someone whom you can love, learn from, and bond with.

2. Help you gain confidence, create easier rapport, and shed fears about meeting people, especially those attractive to you.

3. Assist you in conquering—or even making an asset out of—shyness. Yes, an asset. Shy people: hang this on the mirror: “Shyness is a charming virtue because …..”

And, simply as an experiment, fill in the dots with something new every morning. Now, knowing how charming you are, allow people to glimpse, sense or hear a bit of that charm.

4. Help you shed incapacitating fears about repeating failures of the past.

5. Move you away from the longing for a past relationship and toward starting a new, nourishing one.

6. Engage you in feeling more comfortable in your own skin so you can connect freely and fully with others. That includes socially and sexually.

7. Assist you in noticing the beliefs you hold about love and sexuality, and recognize the beliefs of others. That will allow you to realize the similarities and perhaps-surprising differences. And, of course, get a glimpse at where your barriers lie.

8. Help you avoid rehashing incidents in your past history, including childhood, that may have made you leery or fearful of deep connection.

9. Help you release unnecessary worries or thoughts about the mechanics of dating and/or lovemaking.

10. Give you the confidence to know that you can create a strong, nurturing relationship, especially if you take to heart that we are all human, living our lives as best we know how…

And there are more possibilities for using hypnosis—whether with the help of a hypnotist or on your own— to kick-start your love life, too many more to describe here. Use your imagination, and what you come up with will likely be true. Because you are w-a-a-a-y smarter about this topic than you think you are.

By the way, many clients assume that the content of the hypnosis session, especially the part we call “suggestions,” are my basis for saying hypnosis can help your love life. That’s true, but there is something more.

Something perhaps unexpected.

It’s the very nature of the hypnosis session, the activity of going into the hypnotic state.

It’s the letting go…releasing…relaxing...being open enough to accept the suggestions given (and knowing that any that are inappropriate for you will simply fall away)… …letting yourself imagine future possibilities, how you desire it to be….perhaps even multiple possibilities…without knowing for sure which…if any…will occur…and precisely when….

Sounds a lot like what you need in order to allow love, doesn’t it?

(You don’t really think that’s a coincidence, do you?)
