Significance - Enough To Live For

Lavish Lunches, Sky’s Limit Expense Accounts and Overseas Vacations Have Been Over For Some Time Now. People all over the globe are either Surviving, Stabalizing, Succeeding or living a life of Significance.

Survival

We are living in a world of uncertainty. The unemployment rate is the highest it’s been since the Great Depression of the 1920’s and we haven’t seen the worst of it yet. Home foreclosures are at an all time high and mark my word, you ain’t seen anything yet, there is more to come.

When times like this hit, people go into survival mode, at least the smart ones do. You see folks, you can blame the government, your company and everyone else for your misfortunes in life. Did you need that new car, new boat, big home? Or could you have lived within your means and not spent $1.20 for every $1.00 you made.

The Government is doing this with our tax money. Yep, that is the reality. Only now, people are like, “Holy Crap, I am in trouble”. Well duh. When you spend more than you make, yep, your in trouble. I call it survival mode because people are not living the life they want to. The Fact is, it’s there fault. Over consumption is eating our world from the inside out. In some countries, people are fighting for food and water.

Stability

What most folks are now trying to do is stabilize their financial lives. Stability comes when you are able to balance your own budget, and are not bleeding every month. With financial stability you are able to put food on the table, pay the bills and maybe have a little left over for extra curricular activities.

Success

This is where most people think they have made it. They have a positive cash flow every month, the bills are paid and they have a nest egg in the bank account. Most CEO’s and highly paid sales people feel like they are living a successful life. But at what price does this come. I know the statistics. 1 out of every 2 marriages are failing. Why? Because people chase the “fake success”. They think that providing is all monetary.

Well folks, I hate to break it to you but money, in my eyes, has nothing to do with being successful. I think it more has to do with living a fully balanced life. The fact is, there is no stability working for someone else anymore. You may experience what you feel is temporary success if your lucky enough to still have a job.

Understand this. When someone else signs your paycheck, you are a slave to them. Your a liability. Don’t believe me? Take a look at your companies financial statement and look down the liabilities column. Yep, payroll taxes and employee benefits fall into that category. Your not an asset or payroll would be on the assets column. Success is not a place, destination or monetary measure. Success is how you feel on the inside.

Significance

This folks is what people long for, but somewhere along the way, they get sidetracked. They are lured by worldly things. They are after physical wealth and all of the things they see through the media about what the world calls success. My question is, what kind of legacy are you going to leave behind when it is all said and done.

What is the dash between the dates on your gravestone going to stand for? What have you done to contribute to the future generations to follow? What kind of life are you leaving for your kids, god forbid something should happen to you. The bottom line is, if it’s to be, it’s up to me and you.

We are responsible for creating our own destiny in life. I heard a saying once stating, “The Cavalry is Not Coming”. Ain’t that the truth. Keep your eyes and heart open. The answers to life, riches, wealth, success and significance are all within your reach. The question remains, are you going to reach out and own them.

Are you going to meander in the cesspool of mediocrity or are you going to rise to the occasion and do what you have to do with no regrets, no looking over your shoulder and no blaming others for your shortfalls in life.

Go For it! You have everything it takes, you just have to own it.
