The Opportunity, and the Opportunity in the Lost Opportunity!

By: ReggieO

Have you recently lost out on an opportunity because you waited, or hesitated?

An opportunity is an offer from Life to grow, expand, or evolve in some area of your life.

Personally, it might be the opportunity for a new relationship, to grow more intimate in a current relationship or to change a habit which keeps you stuck.

Professionally, it might be an opportunity to be more visible, connect with a new client or clients, add a new stream of income or anything else that empowers you in moving to the next level in your business.

All true opportunities offer some vehicle, person or path to assist you to express greater or unrealized aspects of your authentic self.

The Window of Opportunity

In the Stages of Change Theory there is a time when you recognize that changing some aspect of you is more attractive than not changing. You are inspired and motivated to change. Your energy is up and you see that possibilities are available through changing that are not available if you don’t change.

This window of opportunity is a potential change point. It is also a window of time during which the universe has orchestrated everything necessary to support your successful change, even if you can’t yet see the ‘hows.” Everything you need is available.

But it’s usually a small window of time. Because after this point when everything has come together for your success, things change. Especially your energy and the openness in your consciousness.

To Decide or Not to Decide

Decisiveness is one of the most powerful and empowering personal qualities. And yet, making decisions is very personally challenging and stressful for so many people.

When you don’t make a decision based in fear, discomfort or uncertainty, you usually waffle in ambivalence, your energy leaks out and the opportunity is decided for you. It becomes a lost opportunity. Your self-confidence and sense of power takes a dive.

How do I know if it is a true opportunity and not just the ‘bright, shiny object’ syndrome at work to distract and pull me away from my focus?

If it is a true opportunity, you will feel inspired and sometimes a little breathless. Drop your attention down from your head into your body. You will feel or ‘know’ through your body. Your being will say ‘yes.”

What happens if I don’t say ‘yes’ - even though I ‘know’ it is right - because I am too scared or something else is holding me back?

You will soon lose the clarity you had, you’ll start doubting yourself in other ways, you’ll begin to feel disempowered, listless or agitated and you’ll lose your focus. Maybe you’ll eat a super sized piece of cake or have a triple espresso to numb you out, or take you out of the experience.

What is the opportunity in the lost opportunity?

Acknowledge that it was a lost opportunity, and that you made a choice even though it didn’t seem that way. Not to decide is to decide. You are making the choices for your life every moment of your life. That alone may be the great awakening and empowering that you need.

Forgive yourself! The Divine already has.

And remain awake! We live in an abundant, ever giving universe. The opportunity you lost may never come around again. And you might need to feel that loss. But opportunities are unending. You just have to recognize them. And say ‘yes,’ if you choose to.

There will even be an opportunity in the lost opportunity. Be sure to look for it! And say ‘yes,’ if you choose to. It is always your choice!

Step Into Your Greatness!
The opportunity - and the choice - is yours!

Opportunities are offers from life for you to expand and grow. There is a time where you find it more attractive to change rather than stay the same, during this window of opportunity your energy is up and you see the possibilities available that motivate you to change. Some people find it hard to decide to change and how do we know if it is really the right opportunity? Look into yourself, you will ‘know’ from getting in touch with your inner self.
