The Turning Point

By: Samm J. Bogner

Jonathan wonders where life is taking him. He wonders when a better job is coming, when the perfect woman will enter his life, why life is so hard and everything is a confusing struggle. He doesn’t have the answers. Perhaps he considers eventually whether he even has a place in the world. He finds himself sad, alone and depressed a lot of the time. Why he was even born in the first place, he asks himself. Is there a point to all of this?

When he truly begins to ask, he may be led to look toward something greater than himself and seek to find just where he fits into the Universal scheme of things. Perhaps it is because he views his life as so bad that he knows in his heart that he must do something positive or he will just burst. It is just that he doesn’t know what to do to bring more good into his life.

Jonathan’s friend, Albert, tells him that he has heard about Kabbalah. He tells Jonathan that it is a scientific way to improve his circumstances through an orderly connection to the Creator of all things. Albert suggests that, together, they might begin their exploration of what Kabbalah entails. He shares that according to Kabbalah, the Universe is an orderly system in which everything that takes place is meant to happen just that way, to bring an individual closer to the Creator.

Albert also says, “All things work together for ultimate good, and in this way, everything IS good.”

This is confusing to Jonathan, as he looks back on the failed relationships, failed or unfulfilling jobs, his flagging finances and the difficulties he went through with his parents.

“How can these things have been good?” Jonathan asks.

“They are good, because if you had not gone through them, you might never have come to this point in your life, when you are open to the help of Kabbalah. You would never be asking what the Creator can do for you, if your life was perfect. But now,” Albert continues, “you are open to the Light of the Creator, ready to ask for help for your life, to make things better, not only for you, but maybe for people you will meet in the future. You may some day reach out to others who have had experiences like your own, and show them what Kabbalah can do for them.”

Jonathan is still unsure. “I’m not sure this is for me.”

“Kabbalah is for everyone. It is the answer to life’s problems and maybe even the problems of the entire world. You see, we are all connected. All life is connected. Once you realize that, you can understand that the whole world can act together to make life better for everyone. Wouldn’t you like to be a part of that?”

Jonathan smiles for the first time in weeks. “I would like to learn more so that I can turn my life around and feel some happiness and fulfillment. And it would be wonderful if, by doing that, I might be able to help someone else.”

Jonathan shakes Albert’s hand and they embrace, ready to set off on their study of Kabbalah.

Have you ever wondered why you are on the planet? Have you turned up empty in your search for answers? Maybe Albert can help you in your journey.
