Dysphagia is the medical word used when a person finds it difficult to swallow, and it occurs in young, as well as old, people. A host of varied factors may lead to the problem for which there exists a number of different treatments and management techniques that correspond to each such factor. Although dysphagia is quite a stressful condition, stable and continual improvement can be made in a patient's quality of life when they seek medical help.
Michiel Van Kets writes about dysphagia, a condition whereby swallowing is difficult or impossible due to a disease process, such as stroke. Patients who suffer from dysphagia have difficulties swallowing tablets, and find the frequency and experience to be an ordeal.
