What Is Real Strength Within the Eyes of the Lord?

By: L.Steven Sanders

For many individuals strength isn't based on will power or perhaps a person's ability to stand by their beliefs. It's instead assessed by physical prowess. The truth is that the physically strongest person can be weak, and also the individual perceived to be the weakest may actually be strong. A strong person can continue to feel weak sometimes, get tired, be discouraged, and even contemplate giving up in certain situations. There are many fictional characters that have been regarded as quite strong, but they are only strong due to the stories written on their behalf. Jesus was a real individual that carried the load of our world and gave His life for all our sins.

Even if you are strong, there might be instances when weakness surfaces. Jesus was tempted just like we are. He felt tired, became upset, as well as considered giving up at times. Jesus even wanted to avoid difficult situations when possible. The bible informs us that He came across many temptations and experienced some weakness occasionally. He overcame these temptations and the weakness so He could fulfill His mission and purpose. What made Jesus sufficiently strong to move forward and never fall into despair? He had an obligation and He carried it till the very end. This is when the road between weak and strong appears. All of us have responsibilities just as Jesus did, just how we decide to handle them determines whether or not we are strong or weak. Not physical ability or other factors.

Weak people quit when times get tough. They give up and try to escape from difficult tasks or situations. Jesus refused to give up and acknowledged His responsibility. He denied temptation and continued to follow through with His task. It may be hard to keep trudging along when it feels so easy to simply give up. A bigger cause can help because it is easy to give up ourselves but not that simple to stop when others depend on following through. By trusting in God and having some of the weight He carried on our shoulders, quitting is not a choice. If you have done all you are able do, the bible informs us to stay with the Lord and become strong. Look at your inner self and become true to your responsibilities. God, the Father will give you the strength you need to brush off temptation and keep going.

It is getting harder every single day for individuals to maintain their responsibilities. Quitting is not the the answer. Make use of faith in God and His strength to keep doing your best. God will give you the answers to get you through these rough times. Opportunities will present themselves as long as you continue to trust God. When you are feeling weak and situations are difficult, ask a higher power for answers and additional strength. He will provide for you and give you everything needed as long as you remain true to Him. Don't let yourself be weak and give up. Instead become stronger, meet your barriers directly with the full aim of never giving in.

For many individuals strength isn't based on will power or perhaps a person's ability to stand by their beliefs. It's instead assessed by physical prowess. The truth is that the physically strongest person can be weak,
