Why is Hypnosis For Smoking Cessation So Effective?
By :
Dr Terry Doherty
When smoking seems to be overtaking your life, hypnotherapy to stop smoking can be a choice many never think of choosing. Hypnotherapy is the art of moving from the conscience mind into the subconscious in order to makes changes or suggest new actions that may improve health. Hypnotherapy works through a series of subconscious altering sessions that focus on the retraining of those learned behaviours. When the time has come to stop smoking, hypnosis can guide the mind through retraining.
What is Hypnotherapy?
By :
Dr Terry Doherty
Hypnotherapy is the act of placing the mind into a hypnotic state where actions and outcomes can be transformed and changed for the betterment of the person. When actively hypnotized, a person's mind is put to rest or placed in a relaxed state, where the stresses of every day life and the thoughts that often preoccupy the mind fall off to reveal a more inner sight. Hypnosis has been compared to the feeling the body experiences when falling into a deep sleep.
Taking Your Last Puff with Hypnotherapy
By :
Dr Terry Doherty
Hypnotherapy for smoking is a great choice because of the nature of habitual smoking. Habits, simply put, are addictions and addictions are created in the mind. While many smokers try their best to stop smoking cold turkey or utilized one of the many prescription medications on the market for smoking cessation, these are truly not effective until the mind is convinced that the body no longer needs the nicotine. This is where hypnotherapy can come in.
Hypnosis, Shmypnosis, I’d Rather Nap

What’s that Churchill quote? “There’s nothing like golf to ruin a great walk.” A wonderful line, isn’t it? Golfer or not, we know exactly what he meant.
Sometimes you just want to rest your mind, stretch your legs, and take things in without having to do anything.
Not try hard. Not give it your best. Not raise the bar for yourself or anyone else. Not suffer the consequences of a poor showing. Or even the exhaustion of a good showing, taking in all the congratulatory nod...
Why See A Hypnotist : 10 Great Reasons
By :
Sometimes it amazes me how many people who, upon learning I’m a hypnotist,
confide they’ve always been curious about being hypnotized. “I want to try it,” they whisper, “But I have nothing to be hypnotized for.”
“Really?” I ask. I can think of a thousand possibilities.
For time’s sake, I’ll supply the most popular, at least those I encounter most in my practice:
1. Hypnosis to feel relaxed and to learn how to relax yourself with self-hypnosis.
2. To quit smoking ...
Phone Hypnosis — Does It Really Work?
By :
For over 10 years I have been a hypnotherapist (or “hypnotist”—I’m using the terms interchangeably). In the early years hypnosis by phone simply wasn’t on my radar screen. As time passed, I heard about it now and then. Once in a while a client asked if I did it. I said “No.”
And then my clients began traveling for business. A few of them said what they hated most of all was missing our weekly or biweekly hypnosis session. “I’m not functioning as well when I don’t get that ...
Hypnosis: Mind’s Magic Pill?
By :
There is a problem with hypnosis. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Here’s how I know….
One day a good client asks me out of the blue: “What do I tell people you do?”
“You don’t know what I do?” I ask her.
She explains that she has decided it’s time to start referring friends because her objective has been fully realized, and she really knows “it works.”
“Tell them I‘m a hypnotherapist,” I say.
“Hmm,” she says.
“Or hypnotist, if it’s more familiar.”
“E...
Hypnosis For Your Love Life?
By :
Because I’m a hypnotherapist, and because one of the specialties closest to my heart is helping people with attraction, love, and romance, this question comes up often in my practice:
“Do you teach your clients how to hypnotize people to fall in love with them instantly?”
The short answer is no.
The long answer is, no, I don’t, not ever, not even if you say pretty please. Because in my heart it would be unethical, not to mention impossible, to coerce someone to fall ...
What Is The Difference Between Hypnotherapy And Hypnosis?
By :
What is the difference between hypnosis and hypnotherapy? The difference is that hypnosis is a natural state of mind. When you’re under hypnosis, you feel relaxed. You feel so overcome with comfort that you just want that moment to e able to last forever.
Through some simple relaxation techniques, you can attain that same state. With the assistance of a train...
Conversational Hypnosis
By :
For ages, hypnosis has been a debatable subject and it still continues to be. Over the years, many myths and controversies have surrounded hypnosis. It is believed that hypnosis has to do more with the hypnotist’s capability and talent than technique.
Did you know that the subjects under hypnosis are not actually “slaves” to their masters nor are they in a semi-state sleep? They are very much hyper attentive. Hypnosis is usually characterized by concentration, relaxation, ...

Self-Hypnosis Insomnia Treatment
By :
Alan B. Densky, CH
Twenty million Americans live with insomnia. The more they try to fall asleep, the more wide-awake they find themselves. Many resort to drugs, but learn that with these options, the cure is much worse than the disease, and the cure doesn't even offer them the restful sleep they wish for in the first place. The mind actually causes the stress and expectation of wakefulness that generates a sleep disturbance. The good news is: What the mind causes, the mind can cure.

Jealousy is a natural human feeling brought on by simply wanting something someone else has. There is a reason jealousy is one of the seven deadly sins that leads to the more criminal offenses than any other. If you have issues with jealousy, part of y...
